STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART ……
“ He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor”.
Proverbs; 22:9
My dear fellow friends in Christ Jesus,
“As the rich get richer, the increasing misery and cries of the poor are ignored every day”. This is a statement made after the U.N groups estimate that there are 700 million people in the world who are unable to meet their basic needs and that 10 percent of the world’s population lives in extreme poverty.
Poverty doesn’t curtail to lack of income and resources to ensure sustainable livelihoods. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services, social discrimination and exclusion, as well as the lack of participation in decision-making.
Keeping humanity in mind, we cannot stand with folded arms in indifference or give up in helpless resignation. A change of mentality is the need of the hour. As believers, we must stretch out our hands as Jesus does with us to give freely and lovingly offer help to the poor and all those in need. Let us do a quick introspection, “How often do we have eyes to see, ears to hear and hands outstretched to offer help?”Let God lead you to a time of reflection and surrender to hear his voice.
